SIZE GUIDE
The Size Guide teaches how to measure your foot and how to apply those measurements to Stivali's sizing.
How to measure your foot
1. Gather what you need: a sheet of paper larger than your foot, a pencil, and a soft measuring tape or ruler. Measure these dimensions in centimeters or inches.
2. Trace your foot: Place the paper on a hard floor. Stand on it with your full weight. Hold the pencil vertical and trace around the entire outline of your foot.
3. Measure the length: Mark the longest point (usually the big toe) and the back of the heel.
4. Measure the width: Measure the widest part of your foot outline across the ball of the foot.
5. Measure your calf (for tall boots): Use a soft tape measure around the widest part of your calf, keeping the tape snug but not tight.
6. Find your size: Match your foot length to the Size Chart above. If your measurement falls between two sizes, select the larger size.
Pro tip: Measure both feet — it is common for feet to differ slightly. Always size for the larger foot. Measure in the afternoon or evening when feet are at their largest.
Western & Cowboy Boots
Pointed toe styles: Size up for wide feet or high insteps. The tapered toe box requires extra forefoot room for wider foot types.
Pull-on construction: Standard sizing applies — no adjustment needed. The pull-on design accommodates most foot types at your true size.
Side zip closure: Size true and use the zipper to fine-tune the fit. The side zip provides full adjustability from instep to ankle.
Knee-High & Tall Boots
Standard shaft (calf up to 15"): True to size. If your calf measures over 15", size up for a comfortable shaft fit.
Wide shaft (calf 15"–17"): Size true. The generous shaft circumference is designed specifically for wider calves.
Stretch gusset shaft: True to size. The stretch panel accommodates most calf widths without sizing up.
Adjustable side zip shaft: True to size. The zipper allows a customized fit for varying calf sizes.
Height note: Most knee-high styles hit just below the knee for heights 5'2"–5'7". Those 5'8" and taller may find the shaft sits mid-calf.
Ankle Boots
Standard construction: True to size for most foot types. Standard ankle opening accommodates most ankle widths comfortably.
Fitted silhouette: Narrow to standard foot types. If you have wide feet or wide ankles, size up.
Chelsea style (elastic gore): True to size. The elastic gore panel provides flexible fit across ankle widths.
Side zip closure: Adjustable — size true and use the zip for a precise fit at the ankle.
Booties
Low-cut silhouette: True to size for most foot types.
Open back or slingback: Size down half a size for a secure heel fit.
Slip-on construction: Size down half a size to prevent heel slippage.
Lace-up or buckle closure: True to size — the adjustable closure allows a fully customized fit.
Loafers & Flats
Classic loafer: True to size. Structured heel counter holds shape well.
Extended toe box: Runs slightly long — size down half a size if you are between sizes.
High instep opening: True to size. Generous vamp height accommodates higher insteps and wider feet.
Mule / backless: Size down half a size if between sizes for a secure fit across the instep.
Sneakers
Lace-up construction: True to size. Laces allow a fully adjustable, personalized fit.
Generous toe box: True to size. Accommodates standard to wide feet without sizing up.
Slip-on construction: Size down half a size if between sizes to prevent heel slippage.
FIT NOTES
Stivali product pages include Sizing Fit Notes and Best For notes. Use this library to understand exactly what each note means for your foot type.
Sizing Fit Notes — What They Mean
Standard sizing, size up if unsure — This style runs true to size. If you are between sizes, order up.
Runs small, size up one full size — This style runs noticeably small. Order one full size larger than you normally wear.
Runs large, size down — This style runs large. Order one full size smaller.
Platform styles run true to size — The platform sole does not affect your standard size. Order as usual, factoring in Stivali's sizing notes.
Slip-on, size down half a size — Slip-on styles require a snug fit at the instep. Size down half a size to prevent heel slippage.
"Best For" Notes — What They Mean
Narrow to standard foot types — The construction and toe box work best for narrower foot profiles. If you have wide feet, size up or choose a different style.
Standard to wide foot types — Generous toe box and relaxed last. Wider feet are comfortable at their true size.
All foot types — The construction accommodates narrow, standard, and wide feet comfortably. Most customers will be happy at their true size.
Pointed toe — narrow to standard only — The pointed silhouette requires extra forefoot length. Wide feet: size up to gain room.
Square toe — standard to wide — The square toe box provides generous room across the forefoot. Works well for wider feet at your true size.
Wide calf friendly — The shaft circumference was designed with wider calves in mind. No need to size up for the shaft.
High arch friendly — Structured insole and heel counter provide support for higher arches.
High instep friendly — Generous vamp height and instep opening accommodates higher insteps without sizing up.
Shaft Fit Notes — Tall Boots & Knee-Highs
Standard shaft — Accommodates calves up to 15". If your calf measures over 15", size up for a comfortable fit around the shaft.
Generous shaft — Designed for wider calves (15"–17"). No need to size up — the extra shaft circumference is intentional.
Slim shaft — Best for narrower calves. If you prefer a close-to-leg silhouette, this style delivers it at your true size.

Adjustable side zip shaft — The side zip lets you customize the shaft fit at your true size. No sizing up required.
Height-sensitive shaft — This style hits just below the knee for most wearers up to 5'7". At 5'8" and above, it will sit
mid-calf.

FAQ — SIZING & FIT
What Size should I order?
Most Stivali styles run true to size. If you are between sizes, size up. Each product page includes specific Sizing Fit Notes and Best For notes tailored to that style's construction — always check those before ordering. If you are still unsure, our team is happy to advise via live chat.
I have wide feet — will Stivali boots fit me?
It depends on the style. Each product page includes a Best For note indicating whether the construction is suited to narrow, standard, or wide foot types. Styles with a rounded or square toe box accommodate wider feet more comfortably than pointed-toe styles. For pointed-toe styles, we recommend sizing up for extra forefoot room.
How do I measure my calf for tall boots?
Measure the widest part of your calf with a soft tape measure. Compare your measurement to the shaft circumference listed in the product's Measurements section. For standard shaft styles, those with calves over 15" should size up or look for styles noted as wide calf-friendly. Some styles feature a stretch panel or adjustable side zip — these are noted in the Fit Notes on each product page.
Do your sizes correspond to US, EU, or UK sizing?
Stivali products available online are listed in US sizing. EU and UK size equivalents and fit notes are listed on every product page and in the Size Chart page. All products are listed with their EU-to-US-to-UK conversion for clarity.
My usual size did not fit — what should I do?
Fit can vary between styles based on the last shape, toe box, and construction. If your usual size did not work, try the next size up. FAQ — PRODUCT & CARE
Where are Stivali products made?
All Stivali New York products are handcrafted by artisans in Colombia. Each pair is made with genuine leather and materials selected for durability, comfort, and long-term wear.
How do I care for my leather boots?
Smooth leather: wipe clean with a damp cloth and allow to air dry. Apply a leather conditioner every few months to maintain suppleness.
Suede: use a suede brush to restore the nap and remove surface dirt — never use water directly on suede. Store your boots in the original box or a breathable dust bag, stuffed with tissue paper to maintain
shape.
Cowhide or printed leather styles: Wipe clean with a damp cloth only. Do not saturate with water. Apply a leather conditioner formulated for leathers. Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods to prevent fading of the print.
Do Stivali New York products have a warranty?
Stivali New York products are backed by a manufacturer's quality guarantee. If you experience a manufacturing defect within 90 days of purchase, contact our team with photos and your order number and we will make it right.
Are Stivali boots true leather?
Yes. All Stivali New York footwear is made with genuine leather (high-end and sourced as a by-product of the food industry) — smooth, suede, cowhide, or embossed leather depending on the style. The material is specified on every product page under the description section.
